As the issue of obesity becomes an ever present reality, the attention is being turned to the super-high-calories diets which are being consumed by many, and the super fattening foods which are especially available across America.
In America, restaurants become famous for their enormous portions, with customers being lured by media attention, the idea of getting their name on a 'wall of fame,' free meals and T-shirts, or just being able to brag that they've been to the restaurant which serves the biggest portions - and survived.
WebMD reveals that in the US, two out of three adults are already either overweight or obese. They state the fat is more than twice as caloric as carbs or protein, so eating high-fat foods is the easiest way to gain weight. Not only are fatty-food associated with weight gain, but also heart disease and certain forms of cancer.
In actual fact, some of these foods actually contain more calories than most people will eat in two days, and they're being consumed in just one sitting.

As long as these super fattening foods are on offer, people are going to continue to see them as a challenge to eat them, not noting the damage they are going to their own health. For some, it will almost become a challenge to be able to consume these foods, for others, this is daily life - a 7-pound burrito is the normal lunch for them and a fried banana split is more than just a treat once in a while.
There may have been programmes such as Super Size Me, which were aimed at drawing attention to the ever-growing problems of eating fast food, yet over five years down the line since this programme was shown, the problem is still there, and the portions continue to grow in calories.
