Bizerba’s Checkweigher CWE 1500 in combination with the software solution _statistics.BRAIN. Dynamically weigh and classify up to 400 packs per minute.
Balingen – It is not only in times of economic crisis that precision in logistics management is an essential precondition of being able to exist on the market. Whether it is at the receipt of goods, production, or goods issuing: no company in the filling industry can afford over – or under-portioning. Under-filling is forbidden by law and also damages the company's image. Even slight over-filling can add up to substantial losses of materials.
In the incoming goods department, employees can already carry out random-sample testing with the aid of the static scales HR 5100 and the industrial terminal ST. All relevant master data and random testing data is here centrally managed with the _statistics.BRAIN software. If too many quality characteristics, such as weight, are not fulfilled, then the operating personnel receives a warning message and the goods are rejected.
In the production department, the Checkweigher CWE 1500 prevents packages with incorrect weights from coming into circulation. It weighs and classifies up to 400 packs per minute – according to freely or legally defined weight classes. Optionally, a sensor can be integrated that detects metallic impurities. In the case of a deviation in weight or impurities, pushers sort out the deficient packs according to pre-set criteria. "The International Food Standard (IFS) stipulates that packs contaminated by metal cannot go into the same container as ones that are the wrong weight, so we need two pushers and two containers here", declared Dieter Conzelmann, Director, Industry Solution and Market at Bizerba.
Monitoring the check weigher is very simple. All the information that is important for the controlling of a process is shown on a colour display in graphic and digital form. The production management can analyse this data centrally using _statistics.BRAIN and produce long-term statistics. In the event of unacceptable deviations, the respective employee can intervene directly in the production process on site, optimise it and reduce disagreeable follow-up work as well as the proportion of rejects.
In addition, data protocols in accordance with EU ordinance 178/2002 on the traceability of goods can be automatically saved, sent or manually called", says Dieter Conzelman. This thorough documentation of the quality attributes such as weight and metal content make the checkweigher system CWE 1500 an ideal quality assurance instrument for industry and commerce.
A further important advantage of the CWE 1500 system is the fact that new items can be entered by the operator without recalibration having to be carried out by a calibration official. Due to this avoidance of recalibration for each new item, Bizerba offers continual added value for the customer and thus substantial cost-saving potential.
The checkweigher family covers a weight spectrum of 10 grams to 6 kilograms. Direction of movement and running height can be adjusted to the specific requirements of the already existing production lines without additional adaptation costs for the customer. Various sizes of belt body enable the setting-up of appropriate line concepts at various transport heights. Thanks to the multi-display concept, it is possible to set up several operating units at various points on the production line.
